Privacy Policy

Torpedo SwimRun Pty Ltd ("Torpedo", "we", "us") organises swimrun events in South Africa and runs torpedoswimrun.com. We are the responsible party for your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

• Account details: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture as provided by Google.
• Athlete details: names, dates of birth, gender, contact numbers, emergency contacts and swimming or running experience that you enter for yourself or athletes you manage (including children, with a parent or guardian's consent).
• Race information: entries, teams, bib numbers, results and grades.
• Newsletter: your email address if you subscribe.
• Technical data: basic logs and the cookies needed to keep you signed in.

• To create and secure your account and let you sign in.
• To process race entries, manage safety on the day and contact emergency contacts if needed.
• To publish race results, which show athlete names, teams, categories and times.
• To send event information and, if you opted in, our newsletter.

We do not sell your personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

If you choose "Continue with Google", we receive only your name, email address and profile picture from Google. We use them solely to sign you in and link you to your Torpedo account. We do not access your Gmail, contacts, files or any other Google data, and we do not share Google user data with anyone else.

We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:

• Supabase: database and sign-in.
• Vercel: website hosting and file storage.
• Brevo: sending sign-in codes, event emails and newsletters.
• Quicket: ticketing and payments, under their own privacy policy.

Some of these providers store data outside South Africa. Where they do, we rely on providers that apply appropriate data protection safeguards, as POPIA requires. We may also share information with emergency services or authorities when safety or the law requires it.

We keep account and athlete details for as long as your account is active. Race results are kept as a historical record of the event. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

Under POPIA you may ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, object to its use, or unsubscribe from marketing at any time. Email register@torpedoswimrun.com and we will respond promptly. If you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
